Louisiana

Go to LREC.gov and click on “Obtain a License” (at the top) then click on “Salesperson” (on the left). Review all instructions on how to obtain a license.
Complete the 90-hour Real Estate 101 course. This course may be taken in a live classroom or Internet-based format. We recommend:

Send your certificate of completion, Salesperson License Application Part A, and the required fee to LREC.

Once your application has been processed by LREC you will receive an email communication with instructions to schedule your exam date/time and pay the fee.
Next, submit a completed Background Check Authorization Form, a Rapsheet Disclosure and all applicable fees to the Louisiana State Police Bureau for your background check and fingerprinting process.

Take the exam consisting of both state and national portions.

If you pass both portions of the exam, meet with a Latter & Blum managing broker to receive Latter & Blum paperwork. We will mail Part B, your test result, and Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance coverage with payment to LREC.

Attend our Latter to Success class where you will learn how to list and sell homes.
Latter & Blum will provide your online post-licensing course through an approved vendor. Credentials to login for the course will be sent once you are fully registered with Latter & Blum. You must complete this within six months of receiving your license.
Mississippi

Complete the 60-hour pre-licensing course from one of the following:

Meet with a Latter & Blum managing broker to receive Latter & Blum paperwork.
Go to mrec.ms.gov click “Forms” in the top left. Print and complete “Resident Salesperson Application.” Mail it with your education certificate of completion and application fee to MREC.
*Application must be notorized and L&B sponsoring broker must sign.

After application is processed, you will receive an approval letter along with fingerprint card and authorization to Release in about 2 weeks. At that point, you will be able to schedule your State & National exam through PSI examination services. You will have 60 days to take the test.

Take the exam consisting of both state and national portions.

When you pass both portions of the exam, meet with a Latter & Blum managing broker to receive Latter & Blum paperwork. PSI will submit your results to MREC and your license will be emailed to you when it has been processed along with the instructions on submitting your E & O Insurance.

Attend our Latter to Success class where you will learn how to list and sell homes.
Latter & Blum will provide your online post-licensing course through an approved vendor. Credentials to login for the course will be sent once you are fully registered with Latter & Blum. You must complete this within one year of receiving your license.
